About

Zakheni Self Help Community Project is a non-profit organization (NPO) based in Cape Town, South Africa, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents in the Langa community. Founded in 2002, our organization is driven by a mission to promote social equity and elevate community well-being. As we navigate the complex tapestry of Langa, our organization recognizes the diverse challenges faced by its residents—challenges that stem from economic disparities, social inequalities, and limited access to essential resources. Zakheni Self Help Community Project was conceived as a response to these challenges, fueled by the belief that a thriving community is one where each individual is empowered to overcome obstacles, and collective efforts lead to lasting, positive change.
